Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s home Jalsa in Mumbai is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. The reason which Adi gave to the Press was that he wanted the audiences to feel that they were watching a SRK film but landed up coming out of the cinema houses seeing Suri, the character SRK plays in the film.”The source adds further, “If Nikhil had cast any well known face opposite Akshay Kumar, the audiences reaction would be different.

Here they are clearly going to go in the cinemas watching an Akshay Kumar film but he wants them to come out of the theaters watching the character Akshay plays. Nikhil wanted to make the characters real and so he cast Anushka Sharma.. Akshay Kumar has also been an Indian ambassador to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and he also carried the Olympic Torch in Toronto. He was confered an honorary degree by the University of Windsor for his contribution to the Indian cinema in 2008.

States a close source, “Sanjay knew that Aish was banking upon ‘Raavan’ and ‘Guzaarish’ to take herself to new heights as an actress. But since ‘Raavan’ flopped so badly, Bhansali felt that casting Bebo at this stage would be terrible. It would be equivalent to betraying Ash and so he chose to bring her back into his film.”

Priyanka back to Ranbir

Priyanka Chopra just can’t stop smiling. After returning to Mumbai post a 65-day shoot for Saat Khoon Maaf in Coorg, Mysore and Pondicherry the actress is savoring every moment of her stay at home.

She has rather been out of Mumbai for entirely this year – first with shoots if Anjaana Anjaani and the Saat Khoon Maaf. However that does not mean that.

Aishwarya Rai upset?

All is not well with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, so to say. The actress, according to reports, is upset thanks to the response to her film.

Raavan and the controversy surrounding it ever since the Mani Ratnam movie hit the screens more than a week ago.

“It is to be noted that Ash has not made any public appearance after the film and her PR machinery has been asked to remain silent regarding her whereabouts.

Amitabh Bachchan himself is not happy about the film and he wrote on his blog taking a dig at the editing process. “Lot of merited film edited out, causing inconsistent performance and narrative. Abhishek's erratic behaviour was due to symbolic 10 heads visually appearing and each giving him different attitudes to adopt for a situation, he would then finally shake them off and decide,” he said.

Sonam Kapoor wants to work with dad

Sonam Kapoor is gearing up for two releases in quick succession, I Hate Luv Storys in July, followed by Aisha in August. The actress, who plays a Bollywood Emma, is super excited. “After the shooting was over, I had nothing to do,” says Sonam, who was at the Fever 104 FM studio.

“Once in a while, I’d be called to look at a rough cut of a song, but otherwise, I rarely stepped into our Juhu office. My sister, Rhea, the film’s producer, never interfered with my work on the sets and so I don’t interfere with hers. As for dad, he never butts into either of our jobs.”

Sonam denies rumours of having signed a film with her actor-producer father Anil Kapoor, but admits that she wants to work with him. “Not because he is my father, but because he is a ‘jhakaas’ actor. I did an ad with him, now I’m craving to do a film,” she says.

Rohit Shetty’s surprise treat

Director Rohit Shetty is known to treat his team to a great time on and off the sets. After a hard day’s work during the shooting of Golmaal 3, Rohit organised a particular screening of the latest action comedy film, The A- Team, for his entire team.The screening was held at Rainbow theatre on the premises of Ramoji studios in Hyderabad where the last leg of Golmaal 3 is being shot.

The cast, including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu, watched the film with Rohit. They also had writers Sajid Farhad, cameraman Dudley and art director Narendra Rahurikar for company.Kareena Kapoor could not make it as she was shooting for a brand endorsement.

A source confirms, ” Rohit announced after the shoot that he had organised the screening of The A- Team. Everyone was excited. Action is Rohit’s favourite genre and he loved the movie.”

Hansika finds fan in Prabhu Deva?

Hansika Motwani, who is shooting in Paris for Prabhu Deva’s southern movie, has impressed him.It rained in Paris for two days and instead of sleeping away the sudden break or spending it shopping, Hansika decided to learn some dance from Prabhu.She has always wanted to learn Salsa and Tango and Prabhu taught her a mix of both. We hear he was impressed by the ease with which she grasped the steps.

Lastly, when the skies cleared and the shoot resumed, Hansika worked nonstop for 15 hours to make up for the lost time.Prabhu says, ” Hansika is beautiful and talented. Her commitment towards work at such a young age is extraordinary. She is a star in the making and I enjoyed teaching her.” Hansika is no doubt delighted.

The whole cast and crew of Prakash Jha's Rajneeti were present to celebrate the success of the movie in Mumbai. While Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and others were busy giving interviews and posing for the shutterbugs, Katrina Kaif was nowhere to be seen.
Katrina was supposed to fly down to Mumbai for a day to attend the party from Spain, where she is shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, but the actress had to drop her plans because of the inclement weather there.

When asked, if she is banking on her cousin Vidya to help her out in this unknown B’Town, she was quick to reply, “No, I’m not really in touch with Vidya. I’m more in touch with her father. Whenever I visit Mumbai, I make it point to meet him. But I don’t expect them to help me in Bollywood at all…”

Sonu Nigam will pay tribute to late King of Pop Michael Jackson

The owner of most delicious voice in India, Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam, who is a huge fan of late.

Pop legend Michael Jackson, will soon launch a tribute to the late 'King of Pop' who died last year on June 25.

Sonu said he is working on a tribute for MJ with his brother Jermaine Jackson. Talking to reporters here, Sonu said 'I am working on a song which will be my tribute to Michael Jackson.

This will be the first tribute song to the singer with one of his family members. After the song is recorded, I will work on a music video and release it soon'.

The 92.7 Big FM will play the songs of the King of pop all day and Nigam will be on air dedicating his favourite Jackson songs.

Review - ‘Mr Singh Mrs Mehta’ is risqué yet refreshing

Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Love Sex aur Dhokha’ seems to have opened the floodgates of a risqué cinema in Bollywood, for Pravesh Bhardwaj’s ‘Mr Singh Mrs Mehta’ is woven around infidelity in marriage. Starring Prashant Narayanan, Naved Aslam, Aruna Shields and Lucy Hassan, ‘Mr Singh Mrs Mehta’ is the story of Mr Singh (Naved Aslman)

And Mrs Mehta’s (Lucy Hassan) extra-matrimonial affair that somehow draws Mrs Singh (Aruna Shields) and Mr Mehta (Prashant Narayanan) together, with both seeking comfort and solace in each other’s company. The movie revolves around the complicated foursome relationship that borders on love and lust.

The film deals with infidelity with a certain deal of maturity without going over the top with cheap publicity, thrills and skin show. ‘Mr Singh Mrs Mehta’ deals with complex human characters, for instance, take Mr Mehta – an artist by profession.

Who loves spending quality time in his studio. He takes immense pleasure in his creativity, both in the making and destroying of his paintings. When he is done with that, he also loves going out on long drives. However, with the growing proximity of Mr Mehta and Mrs Singh, the former hardly takes any time in painting nudes of Mrs Singh with élan.

There is a strange ease in Mr Mehta and Mrs Singh’s illicit relationship, for it is based on the proximity generated by their victimization. Nevertheless, there is a hardly any difference between the good and bad. In terms of acting, Prashant Narayanan, Naved Aslam, Aruna Shields and Lucy Hassan are quite convincing when it comes to the execution of their respective characters. Above all, all four look totally comfortable in front of the camera.

Aruna Shields looks ravishingly hot despite her pixalated shots. Prashant brings in a lot of control and vulnerability in his portrayal of a painter and jilted husband. Sharang Dev and Ustad Shujat Hussain Khan’s background score perfectly blends with the film. ‘Mr Singh Mrs Mehta’ is at least worth a watch!
