Abhishek and Aishwarya feature in July issue of Vogue

The fashionable couple, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may not have been successful in winning the audience's heart with their latest movie, but when it comes to style, the two always manage to make a statement.
And finally, this 'it' couple of Bollywood will be seen on the cover of the July issue of Vogue. Needles to say that they are looking a million bucks! Aishwarya didn’t want to be an actress

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan maybe one of the biggest and brightest Bollywood stars today but Bollywood was not on her mind while growing up. Here’s what she actually wanted to be.”I wanted to become a doctor because I had and still have a genuine love for the subject. So many girls want to become doctors even today. I studied Science and a lot of my friends today are doctors. They tell me even today that I would have made a fantastic doctor because I genuinely enjoy the subject,” she says, adding, “Very honestly, I joined architecture at the last minute because I thought it was a blend of science and art.

Maybe that is why it was easy for me to leave it. If I were doing medicine, I would have never left it. Today, my doctor friends tease me that I fulfilled my khwaaish of treating people through my social work. In a way, it has brought me back to service because I do a lot of work around health-care.”Ash was never starry-eyed or showbiz-struck. “I never dreamt that I would join films because nobody in my family is even remotely connected to the profession.

As a child, films were there on screen and I was the audience. I never thought I would be here. It goes back to the first photo-session I did and word got around. The good part is that I have been lucky because I never had to struggle through auditions and work has just come my way. ”I think I gravitate towards assignments that are even more challenging than my previous ones. Every time I do interviews, I say that the role was challenging but next time, it is even more challenging. It has all been very demanding, for sure!” concludes Ash.

I didn’t have the time to work in Hollywood: Aishwarya

Though Hollywood directors courted her with roles in their films, Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai says she could not take up the offers because of scheduling problems.”It wasn’t about an attitude I had, or any inverted ideas about working overseas, it was simply about scheduling. I just didn’t have the time,” Aishwarya said. The punishing long-term scheduling in Bollywood, she said, is more limiting than that in Hollywood, reported The Times.

In fact, she was courted relentlessly by Hollywood filmmakers. Director Brett Ratner wanted her for Rush Hour and Wolfgang Petersen pursued her for Troy.”Michael Douglas came to India and did a press conference where he confessed that he had brought a script my way. And Will Smith was generous enough to be persistent twice over, for Hancock and Seven Pounds,” said Aishwarya.

The 36-year-old actress said no to the Brad Pitt-starrer Troy as she was not comfortable with the intimate scenes. Asked about her views on her own family plans, Aishwarya, who is married to actor Abhishek Bachchan said, “Babies are a gift from God and that’s exactly the way Abhishek and me look upon the possibility. We look forward to it as and when it’s meant to be.”
