Tango time for Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra will be seen doing the tango in Vishal Bhardwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf. A sequence in the film requires PC to perform the South American dance form. Ever since she got back from her schedule in Coorg, the actress has been watching videos.

And is trying to master the steps. This is the first time she is learning to learn a special dance form for a film. She's has always always loved watching people do the intricate steps in English films and is quite excited about being trained by a professional tango dancer.

Making efforts The dance is important to the script (perhaps like the one in Scent Of A Woman) which is why PC is making the effort to master the dance rather than do an impromptu jig on the sets. Says an insider, "Vishal is very particular about every minute detail. When he wrote the scene, he was very clear that his leading lady had to perform the tango like an expert."

The actress won't be seen doing the dance with any of her on-screen husbands like John Abraham, Naseeruddin Shah, Irrfan Khan or others. "She dances with a supporting character. Since the tango is all about chemistry between the partners, PC has been making efforts to involve the actor in the rehearsals as well."
Priyanka confirms, "Yes, I am learning the tango and quite excited about it."

What is the tango? Tango is a dance that has influences from Spanish and African culture. Dances from the candomble ceremonies of former slave peoples helped shape the modern day Tango. The dance originated in lower-class districts of Buenos Aires. The music derives from the fusion of various forms of music from Europe.

Priyanka Chopra to look like her grandmother

She will age gracefully and will look like her granny! Yes, in Vishal Bhardawaj’s film Saat Khoon Maaf, the 65-year-old Priyanka Chopra will be made to look like her grandmother.

The special team of make-up artists for ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ worked on Priyanka’s aged look and as per reports took her grandmother’s pics to use as reference for her authentic look.

A source is quoted as saying, “They did a couple of images on the computer to show the natural transition from 30 to 65. Then they used her (Priyanka) grandmother’s photo to try.

And make her look as close to her as possible.” The final results were compelling. To guard Priyanka’s seven looks in the film Vishal has banned camera cell phones on the sets.

Is Akshay Kumar avoiding Priyanka Chopra?

Bollywood celebs Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar may avoid crossing each others path in party circle but as destiny had it, co-incidentally their television shows were slotted to air at the same time and weekday was reported.

However, the news of Akshay’s show Master cook India on Star Plus which is the Indian version of Top Chef that aired on AXN was expected to go on air in the same time period and on the same weekday that of Priyanka Chopra’s Khatron Ke Khiladi on Colors.

And now the buzz is that the show will now be aired on weekends. The time slot and the launch date has not yet been finalised. Akshay’s spokesperson says that the show was to never conflict with Priyanka’s show.

In fact, the actor has left it to the channel to choose on the time slot, date of launch etc.

New York park shut for Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor

It may sound impossible but it’s the truth Central Park in New York City, one of the busiest areas of the city, was completely cordoned off recently to allow.

A film unit to complete shooting without interruption. And the person who made it happen was film-maker Sajid Nadiadwala.

He got special permission from relevant authorities to cordon off the park for a few hours everyday for three consecutive days to wrap up.

The shoot of his forthcoming movie Anjaana Anjaani starring Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor. Apparently many people had landed up to see Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor shoot.

Since the movie was being shot in sync sound, their voices was damaging the recording. As a result none of the shots were usable.

A source says, “Priyanka and Ranbir had become the talk of the town. The shots in Central Park were essential as the film is set in New York.

And if you live in NY, it’s impossible that you don’t go to Central Park. Sajid had no option but to report the matter to the authorities as they were losing days and were on a packed schedule.

The authorities seemed to agree with Sajid’s concerns and for a few hours daily closed Central Park only for Priyanka and Ranbir to finish the shoot on time.”

Though Sajid didn’t want to share details about this incident, Ranbir just said that the experience of shooting in New York was tough but thoroughly enjoyable. “From sub-zero temperature to handling the crowd to partying at Times Square it was a great shooting schedule. Though we had a lot of fun, we were committed to our work as well. The film is looking great and I hope people like the work all of us have put in,” ends Ranbir.

Priyanka Chopra’s cousin takes her secretary

Did you know Priyanka Chopra has a cousin who happens to be a South Indian actress Meera Chopra? A source confirms, “Meera is all set to make her Bollywood debut and has never used Priyanka’s name to climb the ladder. In fact, she wanted to keep this fact under wraps.” Surprisingly, Meera has now employed Priyanka Chopra’s ex-manager Prakash Jaju, who was arrested in 2004 after Priyanka complained of verbal harassment.Clearly, Meera did not bother about Jaju’s dark history with her cousin before getting him to work for her.

Though Prakash Jaju was responsible for getting Priyanka big hits with A-listers like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan, a source reveals, “Things had been horrible between Priyanka and Jaju.This is why it’s surprising that he is now handling her cousin Meera Chopra who is a south India actress.” Why did Meera sign Jaju who is on a warpath with Priyanka and her family? A family friend of Priyanka’s reveals, “Meera and Priyanka’s families are not in touch anymore.” When Mumbai Mirror contacted Meera she was shocked and refused to give any details about her family connection with Priyanka.

Denying that she ever employed Jaju as her manager, Meera said, “I have Ajay Chabbria working as my manager. He looks after my work.” Interestingly, Prakash Jaju doesn’t deny the fact that he’s working for Meera. He adds, “Meera was brought to me by Ajay. We are business partners and have a contract for the same. I am handling Meera’s work but I am not aware that she’s Priyanka’s cousin. Meera never mentioned it to me.”

Brett Lee roped in Priyanka Chopra’s fear factor

Brett Lee is the only cricketer so far who has been officially signed for Fear Factor or Khatron Ke Khiladi anchored by Priyanka Chopra. Actually, the channel Color is miffed over (Board of Control for Cricket in India) BCCI’s ignoring the contractual obligations.

The sources reveal that Indian Premiere League had recently in January has brought their association with the channel in limelight as far as Khatron Ke Khiladi is concerned. However, due to injury hassles BCCI categorically has refused any cricketers participation in the risky show.

Top cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Brett Lee and Adam Gilchrist were to be the part of the show as far as deal with ex-IPL chairman Lalit Modi is concerned. Modi is also heard to have kept BCCI in dark when it came to the deal.
